Blood Pressure Holter

This is a study which registers blood pressure variations over a longer period – most frequently for 24 hours. It provides information not only about systolic and diastolic arterial pressure, but also about the average daytime pressure, average night-time pressure, pulse pressure, percentage of abnormal values etc. The advantages of this study are that it provides insight into the diurnal variations of blood pressure, the “white coat syndrome”, and elucidates the changes in blood pressure in real-life and professional conditions. Blood pressure Holter is extremely useful when hypertension is suspected, as well as when establishing nocturnal hypertension and checking the effect of a prescribed therapy.
